The problem with the paper serial register
In most Bangladeshi chambers, the day still runs on a paper serial book. A patient arrives, someone writes a name and a number, and the waiting room watches the door to guess who is next. It works, until it does not. The book is hard to read, numbers get skipped or duplicated, latecomers argue about their place, and there is no record afterward of how many patients actually attended or in what order. When you sit in more than one chamber, every chamber keeps its own book, and none of it adds up to a clear picture of your day.
The deeper cost is attention. The front desk spends the session managing the queue by hand and answering "how many ahead of me?" instead of helping patients. And because the register is paper, it never connects to the visit, the fee or the prescription — so the same patient details get written again at every step.
What a digital Serial & Queue does

How to set it up
Getting a chamber's front desk onto a digital queue takes a few minutes:
- Add your chamber. Create the chamber where you sit — name, location and its fee structure for NEW, REPORT and FOLLOWUP visits. The chamber is the unit that both Serial & Queue and fee settlement are organised around.
- Create a scoped assistant account. Invite an assistant and scope them to that chamber. They can register patients, create visits, take fees and run the queue — but cannot touch prescriptions.
- Run the day's queue. When the session opens, the assistant assigns a serial number to each arriving patient and adds them to the waiting list. As you call patients in, the queue moves them from waiting to in consultation to done, and the day's attendance is recorded for you.
Once the queue is running, the rest of the practice falls into place: each visit carries its fee, and those fees roll up into chamber-wise totals you can settle daily or monthly.
